Drazen Marovic ist ein Großmeister aus Kroatien, der Medaillen sowohl als Spieler als auch als Trainer für verschiedene Nationalmannschaften gewonnen hat. Unter seinen Schülern befinden sich Bojan Kurajica, der U20 Weltmeister von 1965, und AI Modiahki von Katar, der erste Großmeister von Arabien. Marovic besitzt immense Erfahrung als Autor, Redakteur und Fernsehkommentator über Schach. Er ist gegenwärtig Trainer der kroatischen Nationalmannschaft.
