Konstantin Sakaev:
The Queen´s Gambit Accepted
[9300]

3. bearbeitete und erweitete Auflage 2008, 256 Seiten, kartoniert, englisch

This new edition of the Queen's Gambit Accepted is practically a new book. Every page of the old one has been reassessed and rewritten in order to reflect the latest development of this popular opening.
During the last year White directed his main effort to the line 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dc4 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 e6 5.Bc4 c5 6.0-0 a6 7.Bb3. Several new ideas have shattered Black's defence in key points and forced him to look for sideways. We expect that second players will meet that offensive by including relatively unexplored variations in their repertoire. We deal with this line in chapters 13-15.
Major changes underwent also the chapter that covers 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dc4 3.e4 Nf6 4.e5 Nd5 5.?c4 Nb6 6.Bb3. We added more analysis and lines that we deliberately omitted in the first edition. We thought that their popularity would evaporate, but White is persistently playing them (without great success though!).

We introduce also an absolutely new chapter, devoted to the system 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dc4 3.Nf3 c5.

We restructured the whole material, dividing it into three parts.

Part 1 deals with the most testing option of White 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dc4 3.e4!?.
Part 2 examines the Classical system 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dc4 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 e6 5.Bc4 c5.
Part 3 discusses various deviations of both sides from the Classical system.
