The predecessors were Chess Reader (published in 2004) and Chess Christmas (published in 2006), but that was not the correct chronological order of the early publications of our late friend Kenneth Whyld (1926-2003).With his engagement to revive Cordingley's Chess Students Quarterly Ken began his career as an editor of chess publications in his mid-20s. This reprint is also an opportunity to remember to Edgar George R. Cordingley (1905-1962), the man who "pioneered desktop publishing of chess books half a century before suitable tools were available."
